I'm working through the decision between hard coding the code of the particle system into the background of the website, versus embedding a long video I've recorded from the particle system, and edited and added objects through my own animation capabilities.
My biggest deterrent from directly embedding the code from Open Processing involves an audience familiarity element.
Open processing's page is not inherently familiar to a broad audience, and they do not automatically know where to go to un-mute a video. They also may not realize there is sound to unmute. Here is what any code embedded from open processing looks like:

The menu at the top does not have an appealing design aesthetic, in my opinion and would take away from the appearance of the website.
Only using the hard coded software is also inherently limited by my own coding capabilities, which are far more limited compared to my animation and editing capabilities.
I decided to start experimenting with small videos I could make to embed in the website, that were screen captured from the open processing site, that would be part of the larger video I ultimately created, if I went with that option.
Here is one of the videos I created:
I received such overwhelming positive feedback on this video that I decided to build my bigger project around having small characters randomly moving space into the final product.
The desire to include these characters ultimately tipped the scales in favor of creating a video I would loop and make the centerpiece of the website, instead of focusing on just having the hard coded particle system running in the background.
